Challenging life experiences affect men and women alike. However, mental health issues are experienced differently across the gender spectrum.

Cultural and social pressures affect women’s well-being and heavily influence our sense of who we are, what we should look like, how we should behave towards ourselves and others, and what we are capable of.

Hormonal fluctuations during puberty, pregnancy, and the menopause can all be acutely felt in women’s physical and mental health. Many women experience physical symptoms of mental distress.

Individual counseling can provide relief from:

  • On-going feelings of sadness or hopelessness

  • Overwhelming feelings of anger or aggression

  • Misuse of alcohol/drugs/food

  • Considerable changes in eating patterns and/or sleeping habits

  • Disordered eating (anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, orthorexia, food obsession, appetite and/or weight changes)

  • Decreased physical or mental energy or fatigue

  • Increase in feelings of fear or worry

  • Extremely high and low moods

  • Aches, headaches, or digestive problems without a clear cause

  • Irritability

  • Social withdrawal

  • Suicidal thoughts

  • Feeling stuck in challenging transitions/decisions

Adolescent Girls

Adolescence is a essential transitional phase of physical growth and mental and emotional  development between childhood and adulthood.  I work with adolescent girls between the ages of 15-19.

Adolescent girls face experience many of the same symptoms as adult women do. On top of that, challenges in some areas of life and relationships can be particularly acute during adolescence, and can be helped through individual counseling. These include:

  • Disordered eating (Anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, orthorexia, food obsession, appetite and/or weight changes)

  • Difficulties and/or feeling isolated in relationships with family and/or friends

  • Self harm/injury thoughts and/or behaviors

  • Strong feelings of sadness, anxiety, aggression and anger

  • Worries and challenges relating to the transition to adulthood

  • Struggles with parental rules, values and framework

  • Anxiety or confusion about identity and sexual orientation

  • Low self-esteem

  • Excessive negative thoughts, self-criticism and difficult feelings

Personality Testing

For those aged 17+

Certified Enneagram Personality Testing.

What is it?

The Enneagram is a archetypal framework of nine distinct human personality archetypes, arranged on a circle diagram. Every individual’s personality contains varying degrees of each archetype. Through analysis, the Enneagram offers a rich map to personal development from an open systems perspective. It does not box in people, but rather opens a pathway to self-discovery and greater personal awareness.

How it helps:

The Integrative Enneagram allows you to work on and resolve:

  • emotional, psychological and interpersonal factors blocking personal transformation

  • The self-limiting beliefs and blind spots limiting their growth and effectiveness

  • Leadership maturity, impact and effectiveness

  • Resilience, stress and the symptoms of stress

  • Interpersonal strain and conflict at work and home

  • Career development and transitions

  • Communication and influencing skills
